The RMO's unique sound is based on the plucked strings of the mandolin family of instruments supplemented by bass, flute, guitar, violin and sometimes percussion. This 40 member orchestra has a teaching program of 25 students.

You might not always be able to tap your foot to these sonic creations, but your mind will certainly be entertained: imagine sounds and music that are at times familiar, yet at other times innovative, unexpected and engaging. Welcome to the Cathedral Village Arts Festival’s first-ever Sound Art concert!

Regina has for years been a centre of sound art creation: sonic artworks by this community’s artists have been heard at venues around the world. Utilising a multichannel speaker system in the intimate acoustic space of Artesian, be prepared to be moved by the sound, through the immersive sound / music explorations created by Regina and Saskatchewan audio artists. This event has been curated by the Holophon Audio Arts collective.

-The Amazing Twisted History of the Funomena Mobile Museum of the Weird and Strange. Exhibits, photos, comics and films tell the story of Canada’s most famous odditorium on wheels. Created in 1998 by Artist Gerri Ann Siwek, the mobile museum featured13 funky exhibits, a souvenir shop and tour guide. It traveled to festivals and exhibitions throughout North America, featured in television documentaries and print publications.

-Gypsy Mermaid Caravan, the latest art car creation by Artist/Performer, Michelle Kaiser aka Gypsy Mermaid was once a postal truck. Now this rolling work of art, a tribute to everything mermaid, is a performance stage covered in paintings and mosaics, and features a mechanical fortune teller. Gypsy Mermaid will also perform her latest recordings on the Gypsy Mermaid Caravan stage in front of the Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre.

Step off the hustle and bustle of 13th Avenue on Thursday evening, to immerse yourself - for just a few minutes or for an hour - in the spacious acoustics of Westminster Church, to listen in on sonic art ambiences created by Saskatchewan audio artists. This selection of multichannel audio artworks could take you to a boreal forest, prairie grasslands, a vocal group’s creative sessions or other places and situations that will calm the spirit and stir the soul. The release of Crestwood's debut album "The Movies" marks the musical coming-of-age of Steven Maier. Maier created Crestwood to showcase his acclaimed songwriting. With influences like Paul Simon, The Band, and James Taylor creating a solid foundation, Crestwood has built a space for some of Saskatoon's best musicians to contribute to Maier's vision.
