Hats Off!

Hats Off! 2011 is this year's Cathedral Village Arts Festival theme to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and everyone is encouraged to wear hats all Festival week long. Wear a hat wherever you go in the neighbourhood: wacky hats, vintage hats, work hats! Wear a different hat every day! Join the Chapeau Stroll down 13th Avenue Thursday evening at 8 pm, enjoy all the food and free entertainment and have your photo taken wearing your hat.

If you have a spare hat that you no longer want, why don't you donate it to the Arts Festival? There will be drop off boxes at several of the businesses along 13th Avenue. Just look for the Hat Depot sign in their window. If you want a hat and don't have one, pick one up from one of the same businesses.

If you want to spruce up a hat you already own, or if you want to create a new hat, register for one of the free Hat Workshops. They will be held at the Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre at 13th and Retallack St. Wednesday, May 18 and Thursday May 19 from 7 to 9 pm. All ages and genders welcome. Phone 522-8692 to register.
