The Cathedral Village Arts Festival - Information and History

The Cathedral Village Arts Festival is a celebration of the arts, life and the spirit of community. From May 24 to May 29, 2010 Cathedral area residents invite their neighbours in Regina and visitors from afar to celebrate the gifts that arts and culture bring to our community.

The six-day festival features performing, visual and literary arts, crafts and performances. It offers professional artists the opportunity to present their work to new audiences; emerging artists a venue to introduce themselves; and avant-garde artists a supportive arena to share their talents. The Festival invites children, youth and adults to create, participate and enjoy the arts in all of its diversity.

The Festival partners with schools, businesses and community groups for all cultures that identify with the neighbourhood. It encourages innovation and diversity and fosters the creative spirit in everyone who attends.

Now entering its 19th year, the Festival attracts upwards of 35,000 audience members, one of the largest in Saskatchewan. In the spirit of inclusion, all events are free of charge.

The Cathedral Village Arts Festival operates as a committee of the Cathedral Area Community Association. It's made possible by the tremendous work of almost 300 volunteers, from across the artistic, professional and business spectrum, who provide their vision and expertise to create an exciting community event. Generous support from community, cultural organizations, funders, businesses, corporations and the public results in free access to all events.
